Ideas for Fresh Strawberries



Although raw asparagus might seem unusual to those who have only eaten asparagus cooked, it is delicious.

Ingredients:

1 quart strawberries, cleaned and stemmed
1 TBS sugar, or to taste

One of the following:
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Grand Marnier
1 tsp balsamic vinegar
In a bowl, combine the strawberries with the sugar, and either the orange juice, Grand Marnier, or balsamic vinegar. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, but no longer than 4 or 5 hours. The strawberries can be used as a topping for ice cream or shortcake, or puree a quarter of the strawberries in a blender until smooth, and pour the sauce over the remaining whole berries.
