A Country Man’s Meatloaf

Ingredients:

3 lbs ground beef
1 lb country sausage*
2 cups oatmeal
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 tsp sage
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup milk
3 eggs
Ketchup (see instructions for amount)

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Mix all ingredients except ketchup. This is best mixed by hand. When thoroughly combined, form into a loaf, and place in a roasting pan. Coat the outside thoroughly with ketchup (your choice of brand). Cover with a lid, or foil and bake for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Serve hot. 8 servings.
