More pasta recipes, please

We were very surprised to look through almost two years of columns, and find only one recipe for pasta, especially since we love pasta! Like many people, we have spent hours making pasta from scratch using a hand-cranked machine, hanging it around the kitchen to dry, and then enjoying fresh pasta that cooks in just three or four minutes. But more frequently, we need something a little less time consuming. Today we are including several of our favorites, one of which must be the easiest pasta sauce ever, tomato-vodka sauce, that uses just a few ingredients most of us have on hand. Nothing beats the fresh taste of the primavera recipe, and you can change the ingredients depending on what is available at the market. We made this recently using asparagus, baby bok choy, leeks, and carrots. On other occasions, we've included yellow or red peppers, zucchini, and sugar snap peas. The flexibility of this recipe means it makes frequent appearances on our table. Cauliflower, bacon, and breadcrumbs combine for a wonderful pasta topping, and since this is one veggie that is available year-round, finding the ingredients is very simple. For really great bacon flavor, pick up some of the Nueske's apple-smoked bacon at Fresh Market to use in this recipe.
